Apply now

Choose from student e network, our free electronic student membership service, or full student membership, receiving the LI’s journal (Landscape) and other LI services for just £2 a month

If you are a student with a passion for our places and open spaces, student membership is the way to keep in touch with the latest news, views and ideas from the world of landscape and the environment.

Student membership puts you in direct touch with the profession, including opportunities to meet like minded people, get involved in events and activities at local and national level and join SLIC, the Student Landscape Institute Council. SLIC is the independent student body run by students for students. Have your say and get involved in talks, debates, student exhibitions and more.

Student membership is open to all students. It is particularly important if you are studying on an accredited course

There are two levels of student membership. Choose from

  • Full student membership, the full range of student benefits, including the LI’s monthly journal Landscape at just £2 a month
  • Student e-network, our completely free electronic student membership service

Benefits of student membership

  • Landscape Journal: Student Membership includes subscription to the Landscape Journal, the quarterly magazine for everyone interested in the transformation of landscape at whatever scale – the private garden, the public realm, major private and public developments, spatial planning, iconic or protected landscapes. It offers the latest thinking and analysis and full details of the best UK and international schemes in the living and built environment. eVista highlights upcoming competitions, awards, events and special offers.
  • Landscape Online: A fortnightly e-newsletter which keeps members up to date with current developments
  • Talking Landscape: Our members only discussion forum. This excellent resource enables you to stay in touch with colleagues and to pose and answer questions from other members.
  • The LI archive and library
The LI archive and library is open weekdays. The library offers specialist information services and resources as well as a lending library of more than 5000 books and journals.
