Fellowship of the Landscape Institute (FLI)

Fellowship of the Landscape Institute is conferred on senior and influential Members of the Landscape Institute and recognises their talent, expertise and particular contribution to landscape architecture.

Applications for fellowship are considered by the LI's Fellowship Admissions Board and must be supported by two proposers, one of whom must themselves be a Fellow of the Landscape Institute (the second proposer may be a Fellow or CMLI).   • Recognition of senior status and standing in the profession. Fellowship of the Landscape Institute (FLI) recognise the leaders, innovators and those who have made a special contribution to the development and promotion of the profession.
  • Landscape: Fellowship includes subscription to the Landscape, the quarterly magazine for everyone interested in the transformation of landscape at whatever scale – the private garden, the public realm, major private and public developments, spatial planning, iconic or protected landscapes. It offers the latest thinking and analysis and full details of the best UK and international schemes in the living and built environment. eVista highlights upcoming competitions, awards, events and special offers.
  • Have your say: As a corporate Member of the LI you can participate in the decisions about how the Institute is run, including voting in and standing for, election to Council, in accordance with procedures defined by LI's Charter, regulations and by laws.
  • The LI archive and library: The LI's extensive library and archive is available to all Fellows. Please click here for more information.
  • Publications, services and advice: As a Fellow you will have access to the password protected members' section of the LI website, giving you access to a wide range of services, including technical and practical advice, free LI publications, and a host of information to help you in your professional life and career.
  • Branch membership: Membership of the LI branch for your area, giving you access to professional and social networks, local events and seminars. You can also choose to link to a second branch if you wish – for example if you spend a significant part of your year at another address.
  • Recruitment services: Whether you are looking for a permanent job or opportunities to broaden your experience, the LI provides free services to members to help them on their way, including a job section updated daily, and our jobs bulletin Vista express, emailed to you directly on request.
  • Events: Access to events run by the LI and its partners on the issues that matter most to you, including workshops, exhibitions, seminars, conferences and open days.
  • Legal and insurance services: Free initial consultation and preferential rates through Mc Parland Finn and Russell Cooke.

At Russell-Cooke, Guy Wilmot offers legal advice, including a free twenty minute consultation to LI members on any legal matter relating to their business structure and business models, property issues including leases, preparation of partnership, LLP and shareholders' agreements, employment contract disputes and policy issues, advising on litigation dispute and recovery of fees, issues with contracts and terms of business, criminal law, intellectual property issues and tax, inheritance and family law. Career break rates are available for Fellows, Members & Licentiates taking a career break, maternity/paternity leave, travel or further study.
