Pathway to Chartership

The Pathway to Chartership is the system for qualifying as a chartered landscape architect. All Licentiates who wish to progress to chartered status and become a full member of the LI will need to join the Pathway if they wish to progress.

The Pathway is based on a system of online submissions and feedback, and aims to help Licentiates make the most of their period of qualifying experience by supporting them in developing the knowledge, skills and understanding they will need for their professional life.

While on the Pathway, Licentiates are mentored by a fully qualified professional member of the LI and also receive regular feedback from the Pathway supervisor. Once they have demonstrated that they are ready to move forward, they progress to the second and final stage, the oral examination. The Pathway is flexible, so Licentiates can progress at their own pace. It also takes into account previous learning and development.

The majority of the information about the Pathway is in the Members Section of the LI website. However, you can download the Guidebook and Syllabus now.
